Beating your speeding ticket - A comparitive review

Recently, I purchased and reviewed a few different products which claim to allow people to beat their speeding tickets. As all three are based upon the ideas presented at TIMPRA, they are all quite similar. The chart below compares what each has or does not have and below it I will summarize the pros and cons of each product when compared with the others.

Similarities
All three of these titles focus on impeaching the evidence required to convict you, and any one of them will work provided that the method used to determine your speed is covered, you can avoid testifying against yourself, and you are not put through blatantly sham proceedings.

Layout and Explanations
I found Case Dismissed to have the best layout and explanations, with Beat The System coming in at a close second. The combination of fonts and colors used in Pay No Ticket was a bit much for me and its’ explanations were not quite as well presented as either of the other two.

Extra information
Beat the System provides some information lacking in the other two, primarily that on special considerations for work zones, speed zones, and the MUTCD.

My Recommendation
Having picked up all three of them, if I had to get only one it would be a toss up between Beat the System for its extra content and Case Dismissed for its slight edge in clarity. More than likely I would get both of them, knowing what is inside of them. Don’t get me wrong here though, Pay No Ticket is solid as well, I simply found that it was not as clear as Case Dismissed and it lacked the extra coverage that Beat the System provides.

All three of these manuals lack any real coverage of the trial process in our country, though they certainly show how to beat speeding tickets in court.

Room for improvement
If I were one of the authors and I wanted to edge out the competition, I would do the following:

  • Show how to beat speeding tickets without going to court.
  • Show how to properly file an appeal in at least once state as an example
  • Show how to sue a judge who hands down a conviction with no evidence on the record
  • Show how to impeach an affidavit offered as testimony
